Common Entitlements
The Common Entitlements, or the Common Laws, are the groundwork of laws that make up Picketralia. There are 18, but we began with six. They are similar to the Bill of Rights. They were created when the country was founded in 978 CE, and they are basically what Railtown denied them.
Every person is entitled to a salary that provides for food and shelter
Every person is entitled to protection of their property
Every person's property cannot be taken unless purchased or sold.
The government is not allowed to seize land for anything.
Every person is entitled to vote for another person to represent them.
Every person is entitled the right to vote, regardless of age, after they prove their aptitude.
Every person is entitled the right of formal education.
Every person is entitled to shelter and food.
Every person is entitled to many years of life and good care.
Every person is entitled to protest.
Every person is entitled to independence from other people once they come of age.
Every person may speak their own language.
Every person may practice their own religion.
Every person is entitled to speak what they wish.
Every person is entitled to the knowledge on how to read and write.
Every person is entitled to use waterways for their own good.
Every person is entitled to a fair trial with a jury of their neighbors, and a jury of common opinion.
Every person is entitled to use roadways free of charge, and toll roads that are too expensive for the common person are illegal.
Removal Clause: No Common Entitlement can be removed without vote of the entire populace.
