The Democratic monarchy is a form of governance created in 495 BCE by Olym Hys Morias for the nation of Moria. It involves the democratic election of a head of state who rules for life. In Moria, the only country to practice it, it initially began as an absolute monarchy at its founding in 495 BCE, but shifted to constitutional in 493. It now exists within the parliamentary framework of the Morian Senate.
