Revision as of 15:22, 29 October 2024
The King of Moria is the head of state of the government of Moria, directly elected to a life term. The officeholder has near full control over the country. The first king, Olym Morias, was not elected to the position at first, as he originally planned for Moria to be a full kingdom, but later was elected with 98% of the vote after making the kingship democratic.
The kingship of Argreth Elenor Tachmal, who died 40 years after taking office, was the shortest in Morian history. Everblaze Ignis Ardeat served the longest, at 340 years. They are one of two monarchs to have served over 300 years.
Unlike many other countries with democratic elements, Moria is not dominated by a two-party system. The country uses a unique voting system, rating each candidate from one to ten. This allows voters to be less strategic about voting and vote more for their preferred candidate than the one more likely to win.
The current king is Cyrus Morius Krios, who assumed office in 1222
