Roxquay (Ukso:Rokskwei) is a town in the Morian region of Morthalia. It is located on Morthalia Island in the Roxquay Valley. The valley is surrounded on all sides by a mountain. The valley is hypothesized to have been created by a meteor impact or large sinkhole.

Etymology
The name Roxquay comes from Ultrius Edbar Roxquay, one of the earliest known rogues and one of the few who were famous when they left society. Roxquay, a UKoD nobleman, war hero, and explorer, discovered the valley and moved there to escape society.

Roxquay was first settled by a rogue named Ultrius Edbar Roxquay, who settled the area sometime in 8500 BCE. It is unknown how he was able to enter the area, however, one theory is that a small, yet steep and deep lake, in the mountains surrounding it, known as "Dead Man's Lake", where many people have died, hadn't formed yet, and he was able to go around it.
After Ultrius Roxquay escaped to the valley, some followed him. Some of these people were freinds and family of his, others just wanted a new life. As the town grew, a tunnel was built to connect it to the rest of the UKoD.

Archaeological evidence shows that he had a small wooden home and a farm. His family grew, and a small town was born. After the formation of the UKOD around 1572 BCE, Roxquay was technically put under control of the kingdom, but it operated as a de-facto city state due to it's hard-to-get-to remote area. This would later prove helpful after the UKOD was conquered by Zorthenia to form the Zorthenian State of Dwarfland in the 1070s BCE.
When Zorthenia began to take control of the UKoD, the king at the time, Florus Hys Relioth, and many of his advisors fled to Roxquay and covered up the tunnel in case of a Zorthenian victory. When Zorthenia won the war, Roxquay remained independent due to its remote and inaccessible nature.

It is well disputed by historians on whether the Zorthenians knew of the existence of Roxquay. One theory is that they knew about it, and tried to conquer it several times, but failed. However, circumstantial evidence, as well as recovered messages during the time disproves this. Another theory is that they knew about it, but simply did not care, as they would've had access to maps created by the UKOD with Roxquay on it. Most historians believe that they did not know of its existence.

During the Zorthenian era, Roxquay knowingly carried on as the last remnants of the UKoD. During this time, several resistance movements to attempt to free the dwarves from Zorthenia began in Roxquay, but utterly failed.
During the Zorthenian era, Roxquay knowingly carried on as the last remnants of the UKoD. During this time, planning for the Morian Revolution began in Roxquay. Olym Hys Morias, the first king of Moria and leader of the revolution, was born in Roxquay.
